Vipava Valley Among The Best in Europe Destination List
Vineyard in Vipava Valley The Vipava Valley of Slovenia has been included in the Lonely Planet list of the top ten destinations for this summer. Emilia-Romagna of Italy tops the list followed by the Spanish region of Cantabria and the Dutch province of Friesland. Vipava Valley ranks ninth on the Best in Europe 2018 Top 10 Destination list. The tourist guidebook publisher describes it as an “undiscovered” region. Lonely Planet also highlights the beauty of the terracotta-tiled hamlets and gothic spires that are peppering the valley. Also caught the attention of the travel guidebook publisher are the grapevines stretching along gentle slopes. Slovenia has been cultivating vines for millennia, but today it has become the land of boutique winemakers whose experimental techniques and varietals are producing excellent results and luring adventurous wine lovers, Lonely Planet said. The publisher advises visitors to take local-led cycle tours in exploring the region. It says the place is
